Wood Staircase
LOCATION: New York, NY
DESIGN: A helixing spiral Staircase with Railing
This staircase is a spiral staircase that the center steel tube helixes. The lower portion was wrapped in reclaimed yellow pine. The center tube was custom bent in our facility the upper structural portion is blacksmithed and received structural flooring glass. The challenge with this project was to give the wood worker who came in after installation the connection points that was needed for the expansion points were the metal interacted with the glass.
