Blackened & Stainless Steel Staircase
LOCATION: New Jersey
DESIGN: Return-flight stair with blackened steel, box-section stringer, steel tube and rod handrail with a satin finish and tile landing and treads.
We were contacted by the architect of this New Jersey residence after reviewing reviewing our portfolio. This staircase came to fruition after meeting and deciding to move towards a different direction. The staircase resulted in a flat-plate stringer, steel and stone steps and a directional stainless steel handrail.
This boxed stringer staircase required extensive on-site work; each handrail joint had to be exact to match each other. All of the stainless components were finished in satin and blackened. The blackened steel stringers nest inside of the stainless steel railing posts and are braced by hidden welds.
